Humphrey, the friendly Umhlanga Tourism ambassador, will be stretching his legs to raise funds for the SPCA. Join him on 25 March 2018 on the Umhlanga Promenade at 6.30am for an easy 5km walk and make a difference for animals in our community. The ‘Honouring Humphrey Big Walk’ sets off from the pier and the cost is R100 which entitles you to an ‘I love Humphrey’ badge. This lovely keepsake must be worn on the day. Dogs are welcome but do remember to bring your poop-scoop packets!
Entry forms are available at the Umhlanga Medisport Pharmacy (Humphrey’s Thursday afternoon office). Payment options (zapper, cash and EFT) are listed on the form. The public is encouraged to enter before 25 March so as to avoid congestion at the start on the day. Note: race-day fee is R120, cash only.
Humphrey’s journey with the SPCA began when he himself moved from being a rescue dog at the animal charity to the loving home of local pharmacist, Alwyn Immerman. Instead of living the high life since then Humphrey has been working hard to raise funds for his former home and has to date clocked near on R300 000! His aim is to reach R1 million for the SPCA.
Humphrey’s Sunday morning walk precedes the eggciting Umhlanga Tourism Easter Eggstravaganza 30 March to 2 April. So there’s plenty of eggstraordinary fun to look forward to on The FunShine Coast!
